With NRMCA’s Spring Semester just around the corner, be sure to browse NRMCA’s 2025 Course Catalog. As you register for courses, the catalog will help you make informed decisions regarding which courses are best suited to you or other professionals in your company. Descriptions of the learning content, scheduling information and lists of instructors for each course are among the many useful details available to learners in a single, easily accessible document.

NRMCA’s Member2Member (M2M) program provides better service and more value to all members. The Concrete Council of St. Louis recently offered its first Concrete Inspection Seminar for contractors, engineers and public agency inspectors in the metro St. Louis area which encompasses part of Missouri and Illinois. The event quickly sold out with 80 participants (many seen here) and a waiting list already in place for the next scheduled seminar. The full-day seminar, for which 6 hours of PDH credit were awarded, addressed the following topics:

In the first two months of 2025, NRMCA Manager, Codes and Sustainability, Matthew Lemay presented updates on sustainability initiatives at three state ready mixed concrete association meetings: 

 

NRMCA's Concrete Durability Course provides ready mixed concrete professionals and associated technical personnel with the critical knowledge and skills necessary to ensure that the industry produces high-quality and durable concrete products and structures. Learners enrolled in this course will gain insight into the mechanisms that impact concrete durability; learn to identify and evaluate the deterioration of concrete; and how to review methods to prevent and mitigate durability problems. Topics will cover the concrete microstructure, cracking, corrosion mechanisms, freeze-thaw resistance, sulfate resistance, alkali aggregate reactions (AAR) and other durability-related distress. Also covered are requirements in industry code and specifications and performance-based alternatives to achieve durable concrete. Attendees passing the course exam will have the opportunity to obtain the NRMCA Concrete Technologist Level 4 Certification.
