A small retail chain is selling naturally fragranced bath and beauty products in an innovative new way: interactively. Lured by fresh smells and colorful packaging, customers enter Basin and Basin White stores to discover sinks with running water at which they are encouraged to wash their hands using the company’s exfoliating bath scrub.
When Soleil Guerrero launched ecommerce site Bebonia in March, she didn’t realize how much time was needed to respond to customer inquiries. A similar customer service problem was happening at Sonja by Sonja Morgan. Both companies found the help they needed with a service provider that uses artificial intelligence to answer emails and provide online chat to help ecommerce customers.
One day in 2010, Chris Riccobono looked at himself in the mirror and realized something was wrong. He was wearing a dress shirt, and he wanted to leave the shirttail hanging out rather than tucking it in, but it wasn’t giving the effect he wanted. The shirttail was too long, and it was the wrong shape, somehow. There’s a line between stylishly casual and sloppy, and this ensemble was on the wrong side of it.

Kids grow, and the Dove Self-Esteem Project keeps growing right along with them. In a stellar example of a brand that sticks with a message for the long term, Dove has a goal of reaching 40 million young people with the tools and encouragement to develop a positive self-image by 2020. Dove says the project, founded in 2004, is the world’s largest provider of self-esteem education, and it already exists in 140 countries.

Consumers increasingly expect free delivery of items they buy online and are also embracing new options like picking up their online purchases at a local store, according to the latest issue of the quarterly Consumer View report released by NRF. The report found that 75 percent of consumers surveyed expect delivery to be free even on orders under $50, up from 68 percent a year ago.
