There’s a new form of cyberattack hitting online businesses that has security experts in retail working overtime to protect their companies. Variously called “formjacking,” “web skimming” or “Magecart,” the bad news is that there are an average 4,800 websites compromised by such attacks each month. A mom packs the car for a family vacation, trying to avoid the cost of food on the road for kids who eat everything in sight. Back in the kitchen, she calls her two sons “bottomless pits” who go through a loaf of bread a day and reminds them to chew. These slice-of-life scenarios are highlighted in a recent ad campaign from Carlisle, Pa.-based GIANT Food Stores, ticking all the boxes when it comes to communicating price, value and selection.

Cut TCO by 15% on barcode devices
Retailers have relied on rugged handheld devices for over 30 years to boost efficiency and productivity. All along, devices have suffered from failures due to charging contacts that get dirty, corrode, or break. Wireless charging prevents device failure, drastically reducing TCO. An enterprise can easily reduce TCO by 15% or more deploying wireless charging devices.

Imports at the nation’s major retail container ports are expected to see their final surge of the year this month ahead of new tariffs set to take effect in December, according to the Global Port Tracker report released by NRF and Hackett Associates. “Retailers are highly competitive, but the ability to compete has been challenging this year because of the uncertainty of the trade war and continued tariff escalation,” NRF Vice President of Supply Chain and Customs Policy Jonathan Gold said.
