The
New York State housing market posted strong numbers through the first six
months of 2013 with expansions in closed sales, median sales price and pending
sales compared to a year ago, according to the housing market report released by
the New York State Association of REALTORS.

According to the results of the second quarter 2013 New
York State Consumer Real Estate Sentiment Scores released by the Siena Research
Institute (SRI), New Yorkers say the real estate market is once again
healthy. For the first time in nearly four years of Siena’s tracking New
Yorkers’ view of the real estate market, every number – current and future,
overall, buying and selling – is positive.

In its U.S. Foreclosure Market Report for the second
quarter of 2013, RealtyTrac Inc. reported New York State had 11,601 total
foreclosure filings in the second quarter and 3,679 of them were in the month
of June, a decrease from both the previous quarter and previous month.

Action (CFA) urging U.S. senators to maintain real estate tax provisions in any
changes to the U.S. tax code. Only

Gov.
Andrew Cuomo has announced $16 million in assistance to flood-stricken
individuals in the Mohawk Valley and other upstate counties impacted by recent
storms. The $16 million assistance program will be administered through the
state Division of Housing and Community Renewal and individuals can start
applying for the funds immediately.

Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) successfully added a one-year delay of
"grandfathered" flood insurance rates to the Senate Homeland Security
Appropriations Bill as approved by committee on July 18. The House-passed
version also includes this provision. Next, the full Senate must vote on the
