Apprenticeship Program Request
As many of you are aware, the NYRWA has applied for, and is working with the New York State Department of Labor, to be granted a registered apprenticeship program for both Water Systems Operation Specialist and Wastewater Systems Operation Specialist.
We are pleased to announce that our filing is progressing through the system, and we are now at a point where we need water and wastewater systems from across NYS to agree, in writing, that they would consider employing an apprentice when they have an opening in the future. Our representatives, Kevin Maine and Jamie Herman will be reaching out to systems requesting their consideration. If you would like to learn more, and potentially sign on, please contact Kevin Maine at maine@nyruralwater.org or Jamie Herman at herman@nyruralwater.org. We will be happy to meet with you and provide any information necessary for your community to make an informed decision.
There are many Water and Wastewater Operation Specialists nearing retirement. We are hoping a Registered Apprenticeship Program will provide yet another avenue for your communities and systems to continue to provide for the needs of your residents.
Thank You to our Conference Sponsors
We met with our Associate Members and Exhibitors during our 2018 Annual Conference. One suggestion that came from the meeting was a tiered system of sponsorship for everything from door prizes, coffee breaks, shirts, hats, etc…
We are grateful to all of our Associate Members and Exhibitors, without whom our conference would never happen. At this time we wish to commend and thank those who have committed to a sponsorship at this time:
1) Premier Sponsors – Koester Associates and G.A. Fleet Associates, Inc.
2) Gold Sponsors – Mueller Company, Auctions International, GP Jager Inc., Statewide Aquastore Inc., H2M Architects and Engineers, Fluid Kinetics Inc. and Siewert Equipment
3) Silver Sponsors – DynaTech Control Solutions and Lamont Engineers
If you are an Associate Member or Exhibitor and wish to provide a sponsorship for our 40th Annual Conference, please reach out to Jake Gardner at gardner@nyruralwater.org
