NYRWA, through a contract with the NYS Department of Health, Bureau of Water Supply Protection, is providing on-site technical assistance for water suppliers in need of help understanding the regulation and compliance. NYRWA technical assistance providers will assist with education, recommendations on where to find information, templates, and with sorting through records to identify necessary data. This assistance is being provided free of charge to the water supplier. We have multiple trained staff to assist your needs. In Eastern NY, please contact Nate Wissenbach at wissenbach@nyruralwater.org; in Central NY, please contact Mark Roberts at roberts@nyruralwater.org; and in Western NY, please contact Jamie Herman at herman@nyruralwater.org. We also have additional staff trained to assist if needed. Please remember, the deadline for the lead service line inventory is October 16, 2024. During the week of February 5th - 8th, the NYRWA Board and CEO were hiking the halls of Congress to meet with our House and Senate Representatives, to promote the great work each and every one of you do day in and day out, and to request their continued support of the funding that is so very necessary for improvements and upgrades to your water and wastewater systems. We also relayed your concerns on regulatory issues and explained that common-sense regulation is more important than ever in today’s society. We all want to protect public health and the environment. How we achieve those common goals has a great impact on our membership and your rate payers. Your message was delivered loud and clear. Thank you all who took the time to send letters of support or appreciation. They really do matter to our elected representatives.
Have you received water and/or wastewater technical assistance from NYRWA? Have you attended NYRWA in-person or web-based training? Has your system benefited from a Source Water Protection Plan or Energy Efficiency Assessment from NYRWA? If so, WE NEED YOUR HELP! NYRWA is respectfully asking our system members to draft and submit letters of support for the services you have received. These letters are crucial, so we can deliver your message to our elected representatives that more needs to be done to fund water and wastewater infrastructure. Please, we need as many members as possible to draft the support letters on your letterhead and mail to our office at: NYRWA, Inc. Let's make this letter-writing campaign a huge success, please participate. We thank you in advance for your consideration. Upcoming Training
