As you are reading this, many of our Staff and our entire Board are away at the NRWA WaterPro Conference in beautiful Savannah, GA. At this event, our very own John D. O’Connell, III will complete his 2-year term as President of the National Rural Water Association. This event will culminate John’s 27 years of dedicated service as our National Director to the NRWA Board of Directors. But wait, John will fulfill his remaining 2-year commitment as immediate Past President for NRWA, and will serve as our National Director during that period. We thank you, John, for all you have accomplished for our Association and for the National Rural Water Association as well. Congratulations, John! Here’s thanking you for providing…Quality on Tap! We would like to thank all of our system members who took the time to participate in the Workforce Survey sponsored by the National Rural Water Association. A "tip of the cap” to our members for your time and your responses which place New York in the top 10 nationwide. This data will be valuable as strategies are established pertaining to recruitment and retention of the next generation of professionals entering our industry. Thank you all for a job very well done! NYRWA, through a contract with the NYS Department of Health, Bureau of Water Supply Protection, is providing on-site technical assistance for water suppliers in need of help understanding the regulations and compliance. NYRWA technical assistance providers will assist with education, recommendations on where to find information, templates, and with sorting through records to identify necessary data. This assistance is being provided free of charge to the water supplier. We have multiple trained staff to assist your needs. In Eastern NY, please contact Nate Wissenbach at wissenbach@nyruralwater.org; in Central NY, please contact Mark Roberts at roberts@nyruralwater.org; and in Western NY, please contact Jamie Herman at herman@nyruralwater.org.
