The call for applicants is open for one Dental Director on the Moda board for a term of four years. With a broad array of companies under its corporate umbrella, Moda is committed to attracting candidates to serve on the Organization’s Boards of Directors who represent excellence in both the practice of dentistry and in its diverse business ventures. Effective July 1, 2024, the Oregon Wellness Program (OWP) will reduce the number of free counseling sessions available to medical and dental professionals from eight annually to three visits. Learn more on the ODA website here.

The Well-Being Index is a quick self-assessment tool designed for health professionals like you to gauge your overall physical and mental health. It only takes about a minute to complete and can be done monthly or quarterly. By regularly assessing your well-being, you can identify areas where you're thriving and areas that may need more attention.

• Create your Free Account: Log onto the ADA website and set up your free account with the Well-Being Index. It's quick and easy, taking just a few minutes.
• Take the Self-Assessment: Once you're logged in, take a minute to complete the self-assessment. This simple step can make a big difference in understanding and prioritizing your well-being.   

Legalization is spreading coast to coast, and cannabis use is on the rise. In this environment, you need to understand how cannabis affects oral health, how to talk to your patients about their cannabis use and what to do if a patient arrives under the influence.

A new rule added optional additional functions for Dental Therapists including intravenous access, phlebotomy and blood draw with successful completion of a Board approved course effective May 1, 2024. There were also ten other rules amended including dental implant training requirements, nitrous oxide permitting, minimal sedation, and additional functions for dental hygienists and dental assistants.
