I am excited to start my term as Canadian Construction Association chair and once again thank outgoing chair Anibal Valente for his contribution over the past year.
Please take a look at the attached CCA Update which provides highlights from our board meetings held March 5 and 6 and the annual general meeting of March 10 in New Orleans in conjunction with our annual conference.

Some of the topics of note:
- What CCA is doing in the field of prompt payment; and
- New policy statement regarding "green buildings".
Additionally, several taskforces are working on some exciting issues and there are many new documents coming up in the near future. I would like to highlight the national Construction Industry Ethics Course that CCA has been working on with BuildForce Canada. The course, which has online and in-class components, launches in early April and will become a mandatory requirement for Gold Seal Certification.
We are eagerly awaiting to see the Liberal government’s first budget and will be posting a handy summary on our website. The anticipated new Federal Infrastructure Program will see total federal investment in infrastructure more than double over the next 10 years!
I look forward to hearing your feedback.
Regards,Gilbert Brulotte
