Lawrence Quinn, IO’s Safety Champion and Senior Vice-President of Project Management, says it’s natural for the company to take a leadership role on health and safety.
"As we continue to develop and enhance our safety program and make it more aligned with best practices, it’s important that industry is aligned with us," noted Quinn. "This week creates partnerships and relationships that will be long-lasting in the field of health & safety."

For IO, the commitment is felt throughout the organization.
"We don’t want any accidents on any of our job sites, full stop," said Quinn. "That comes from our CEO right on down through our executive."
A symposium hosted by IO served to reaffirm the commitment to safety on the thousands of annual real estate projects in the government’s portfolio. IO’s project and property management service providers were on hand as the OGCA presented IO’s Real Estate team with a League of Champions jersey to symbolize a collaborative effort.
The assembled group heard important words of encouragement from Dawn Tattle, Champion member of the League of Champions.
"When a supervisor conducts a site visit, their first questions should be about safety rather than progress," said Tattle, the former president of Anchor Shoring and Caissons Limited. "The goal is to get everyone home safely at the end of the day."
