Ontario Cannabis Plan Passes into Law

The province has passed legislation to regulate the legal framework concerning distribution, sale, and use of cannabis, effective July 2018.
The plan includes an awareness strategy to warn potential users about the dangers of driving impaired. The impact on workplace health and safety has generally been overlooked, placing the focus on employers managing the risk without new tools to do so.
OGCA is working with other construction associations to design generic "fit for work" or "fit for duty" policies and procedures to manage the challenge.
We are planning a second seminar on the issue with RESCON to present the tools and discuss their use.
