On the Road Again

On February 1st, the League of Champions attended the Northern Secondary School career fair in Toronto, ON. In conjunction with the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA), we set up a booth and encouraged students to consider a career in construction. Dozens of inquisitive students came by to share their short-term career goals. Lyndsy Miceli and Andrea George gave them the opportunity to sign a jersey and pledge to oppose unsafe work for their part-time and summer jobs, and beyond.

On February 2nd, League of Champions member Cambria Design Build hosted Rob Ellis, MySafeWork. Ellis congratulated Cambria’s employees for demonstrating a commitment to health and safety, and then challenged them to go to the next level. Spencer Lavis, President, and Samuel Rodriguez, Health & Safety Manager, pledged to strive for safety culture excellence and were keen to sign Cambria’s jersey alongside several other attending employees.

On February 8th, Seneca College opened its doors to MySafeWork and the League of Champions. Partnered with other industry professionals, the Champions formed a panel that responded to student questions on safety practices, stress, mental health, financial responsibilities, and more. Rob Ellis gave an informative presentation and facilitated the discussion. A special thank you to EllisDon Corporation, Pomerleau Inc., Stuart Olson Construction Limited, and Walsh Canada for volunteering their time to support Canada’s next generation of leaders.
