The League of Champions (LOC) has participated in two amazing school events on March 27 and April 4 with Rob Ellis of MySafeWork.
Twelve LOC leaders and over 500 students, faculty and volunteers attended the March 27 event at the University of Toronto. The audience was attended by students from the Engineering who weren’t afraid to be courageous and ask the tough questions to the LOC leaders in their group. Some of the important discussion topics included communication, stress, coaching and family.
The next visit was with Mohawk College – Stoney Creek Campus on April 4. This event was attended by seven LOC leaders, volunteers, MySafeWork partners, and over 400 apprentices and faculty from construction and engineering.
The event started with an inspiring presentation from Rob Ellis. He then turned things over to the students and their group, letting them know their questions, opinions and concerns are valued.
The LOC will continue to raise awareness, advocate for safety culture, and inform students of their right to oppose unsafe work.
A big thank you goes to our Champion volunteers, faculty and students of University of Toronto and Mohawk College for demonstrating that the future of Ontario’s construction industry is bright.
