GCAC Update: Contractor Issues and Concerns - COVID-19
Print this Article | Send to Colleague
The GCAC was asked to join a roundtable discussion with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) to discuss industry concerns on the impact of COVID-19 on construction. The group includes CCA, NTCCC, Build Force, two (2) unions, Canadian Apprenticeship, RAIC, ACEC and others.
PSPSC is most interested in what is really happening on a weekly basis and we are providing feedback on topics such as:
- Financial impact to companies
- Contract issues(i.e. schedule extensions, financial relief, loss of production)
- PPE and safety procedures specific to COVID-19 and their costs
- Future work opportunities on federal work
- Infrastructure spending and money flow to provinces and municipalities for projects
- Secure credit to the construction industry
- Long range impact into 2021
The OGCA wants to include your direct input into these roundtable discussions and asks that contractors submit issues or concerns that the GCAC should table to the PSPC. Please direct any issues or concerns directly to giovanni@ogca.ca.
