Ontario Government Imposes Additional Restrictions to Curb COVID-19

Effective October 10, 2020, at 12:01 a.m., and for at least 28 days, the Ontario Government has enacted the following restrictions in Peel, Ottawa, and Toronto to curb the spread of COVID-19:
- Social gatherings and organized public events are limited to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors if physical distancing can be maintained. The two limits cannot be combined.
- Indoor food and drink service at bars, restaurants, nightclubs and other food and drink establishments is prohibited. Outdoor and takeout service continues to be permitted.
- The following businesses must immediately close:
- Indoor gyms and fitness centres
- Casinos, bingo halls and other gaming establishments
- Indoor cinemas
- Performing arts centres and venues
- Spectator areas in racing venues
- Interactive exhibits or exhibits with a high risk of personal contact in museums, galleries, zoos, science centres and landmarks
- Any personal service where a face covering must be removed for service is prohibited.
- Reduced capacity limits (10 persons indoors and 25 persons outdoors) for:
- Tour and guide services
- Open houses
- In-person teaching and instruction (cooking classes, music lessons) with exemptions for schools, child care centres and other specified educational facilities
- Meeting and event spaces (with special rules in place for weddings)
- Team sports are limited to training only (no games or scrimmages).
