Skilled Trades Panel to Make Recommendations to Close the Skills Gap

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The OGCA, working through the Ontario Skilled Trades Alliance (OSTA), has presented the Skilled Trades Panel that was appointed by Minister McNaughton with a mandate to modernize and strengthen the trades.

They have six months to consult and make recommendations. Phase 1 is a service delivery model to replace the College of Trades. The mandate features four guiding principles for the emerging system: clarity; continuity of services; efficiency of services while reducing regulatory burden; and a transformation that lays the foundation for a modern service that works for all.

We will share the OSTA submission when it is submitted later this week.
