Ontario Construction Secretariat: Q1 ICI Investment Down in All 3 ICI Sectors in Ontario

Statistics Canada recently released its latest Investment in Building Construction Data. Highlights for Ontario’s ICI sector include:
- Q1 ICI investment in Ontario fell by 7.1% compared to Q1 2021
- Investment in Q1 fell year-over-year in all three ICI sectors, although only slightly in the institutional sector
- Commercial investment in Q1 2022 was on par with the quarterly average for the previous two years
- Q1 institutional investment was the lowest of any quarter in at least the past twelve years
