On May 18, the OGCA and League of Champions hosted two sessions at the Canadian Concrete Expo.
Erich Schmidt, Manager of Innovation and Public Affairs, hosted "Building a BIM Team" with Tyler Holditch, Director of Innovation at Matheson Constructors and Yuri Bartzis, Innovation Manager at Pomerleau. The session described the benefits of collaboration, explained how BIM impacts the construction process and provided best practices for beginning your BIM journey.
For the League of Champions panel discussion titled "Improving your Safety Culture," Judith Reda hosted a session with Darryl Cooper, President and COO, Cooper Equipment Rentals, Craig Lesurf, President, Gillam Group and LOC Chair, and Tracey Mooradian, Manager, Health and Safety, Eastern Construction Company. The session covered a brief history of the LOC, the importance of a safety culture and how the LOC Safety Culture Survey can serve as a gap analysis tool to improve safety culture.
