Even though it is July, the OGCA staff are already feverishly planning for the OGCA Symposium for April 10 – 13, 2024.
As we do every year, the APP are centrally featured in the Symposium, and this coming year, we will actually elevate that exposure.
The changes we are planning to incorporate are as follows:
- Tradeshow will be the central feature of the Symposium and be the focal point of all activity
- The congruent education sessions will follow five (5) or six (6) streams and allow the APP to address the most timely issues facing our industry
- Subject matter for the sessions can include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Health and Safety
- Legal / Advocacy
- Innovation and technology
- Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG)
- Supply chain
- Anything you think would need to be addressed!
- Subject matter for the sessions can include, but are not limited to, the following:
- The spacing of the sessions is one hour apart so that there is ample time for participants to speak with the presenters, and everyone is not scrambling for the next session
- The sessions are now all one (1) hour in duration to keep peoples' attention on the subject
- Continuing professional credits will be offered for: legal, engineering-related sessions as well as for any Gold Seal participants
- There are a possible total of 25 to 30 sessions, pursuant to the number of streams we have
Request for the APP members:
We need session ideas, but would like the following submitted:
1. Session Title
a. Something that will grab their attention
2. Description of Session
a. One paragraph noting the contents of the session
3. Presenters
a.Titles and companies
b. Biographies
c. Headshots
Additionally, as a bonus for exposure this year, we are requesting that APP members also volunteer as moderators for the sessions.
Moderators will be requested to introduce the sessions, perhaps act as a referee for the session — depending on how contentious the topic, keep time for the session, then conclude the session and thank our speakers.
The OGCA has the most engaged and informed group of members, and we believe that this Symposium format will elevate the experience for all participants.
We look forward to your suggestions and welcome your active involvement in the upcoming OGCA Symposium.
