SCMAO's Canadian Construction Procurement Conference - November 16, 2023

The OGCA has been contacted by the Supply Chain Management Association Ontario (SCMAO) regarding topics for their upcoming virtual Canadian Construction Procurement Conference, occurring on November 16, 2023.
The SCMAO is asking for topics the industry is experiencing, as well as recommending possible resolutions.
A few of the interest points they are looking to explore are:
- Indigenous procurement – participating in capital projects to generate long term predictable revenue streams to support local communities and improve social outcomes.
- Legal development and risks impacting the construction industry including issues in construction claims and specialized insurance and surety
- Integrating sustainability in construction contracts
- Social procurement & DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion)
- Innovations in construction – ergonomics, digital technologies for supply chain planning, cost development, material tracking loss tracking RFID, logistics innovation, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency innovation, material innovation, modular building
