On Wednesday, May 20, Scott Superintendent Blair Robertson will be launching the initiative from our Bronte Medical Centre job site in Milton, ON, safely serving a physically distanced lunch from a local restaurant (Judy’s Restaurant in Erin, Ontario) to the entire site team. We will then issue the challenge to Gillam Group, via social media. Craig Lesurf has already graciously accepted the challenge and is ready to go with his own #LunchBoxChallenge shortly thereafter. The challenge will gain momentum much like the popular Ice Bucket Challenge of years past, with more challenges issued at each lunch served.
We would be very grateful for your support and assistance in spreading the word on the initiative throughout Ontario. Various BC construction associations were instrumental in generating participation throughout the province, resulting in literally thousands of lunches purchased from struggling businesses and served to hard working staff (and it’s still going strong!). We certainly couldn’t have done it without them and would truly appreciate your involvement.
Our first priority is for safe participation, so we have prepared some guidance we hope all organizations will implement to protect site staff:
I would be happy to tell you more and answer any questions you may have about #LunchBoxChallenge! We also have multiple photos we could share that demonstrate how we served large numbers safely – all are posted to our social media as well.
I look forward to speaking with you about #LunchBoxChallenge! Please contact Donna Grant for more information. Please check out this article in the DCN.
