The Toronto Community Benefits Network is pleased to announce a six-part webinar series, Building Just and Sustainable Communities, that will be starting on September 9, 2021 at 6 p.m. and moderated by our Executive Director, Rosemarie Powell. You are cordially invited to support the series by attending and spreading word to others that may be interested. The series promises to bring together the best of community benefits advocates and thought leaders.
The monthly webinar series will feature over 25 panelists from across Canada, USA and UK who have expertise related to community benefits and equity, diversity and inclusion in infrastructure project planning and development. Panelists come from a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives including community, labour, government, social enterprise and industry.
Why now? Billions of new dollars in public infrastructure investments are being planned to stimulate the economy as governments address the multiple economic, health, social and environmental crises before them. Now is the moment to ensure that the necessary tools, requirements and accountability mechanisms are in place to share good jobs and to build just and sustainable communities.
The webinar series is co-sponsored by the Atkinson Foundation, Canadian Urban Institute, City Building at Ryerson University, University of Toronto’s School of Cities and York University’s City Institute. We are thankful to our co-sponsors for their value-added support with this webinar series.
Giovanni Cautillo will be participating on the December 9 panel discussion - Working with Employers, Contractors and Subcontractors. For more information, please click here.
