Many people are shocked to know that, if this is a typical day in Canada, three families will learn that their loved one has died as the result of a traumatic workplace injury or occupational disease, and hundreds of workers will be seriously injured or made ill because of work. Threads of Life is a national charity that provides hope and healing to these workers and their families.
All Threads of Life peer-based support programs are available at no cost to Canadian families living in the aftermath of a life-altering workplace injury, illness or death. This is only possible through individual and corporate support. Threads of Life help families including Erin's.
Steps for Life-Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy is one way that individuals and companies can help.
Please consider becoming a community or national sponsor of Steps for Life. All proceeds from our annual walk go to fund our peer-based support programs.
“Construction as a whole is deeply committed to the health and safety of each and every worker. This is doubly true of the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) and the League of Champions (LOC) who continually provide our members with the support they require to promote, advance and elevate health and safety to a new level. Both the OGCA and the LOC are deeply committed to safety, both for our members, and across the greater construction industry.
Threads of Life shares the same commitment, and their programs support families who have suffered a tragedy, and provide family members the opportunity to share their stories and help prevent future tragedies. We are proud supporters of Threads of Life and the Steps for Life walk because safety is all of our responsibility, and in one way or another, it impacts every single one of us," said Giovanni Cautillo, President, OGCA.
Together we can achieve Threads of Life's mission: To help families heal through a community of support and to promote the elimination of life-altering workplace injuries illness and deaths.
