Fans of Arthur Conan Doyle and his character Sherlock will know what the 10% solution is about. However, in construction, it has a slightly different meaning.
After substantial completion, it is contemplated that there is about 10% of the project to complete, which includes commissioning, providing of documents and manuals, completion of deficiencies, and any other final work.
Thank you for your interest in applying to become an adjudicator for the Ontario Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (“ODACC”). ODACC is the Authorized Nominating Authority under the Construction Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. C.30, as amended (the “Act”). The Act, together with Ontario Regulation 306/18 (“Regulations”), establish a dispute adjudication regime for construction contract disputes in Ontario. ODACC will commence operation on October 1, 2019.
The long wait to discover the impact of Rate Framework on your WSIB premium will soon be over. The WSIB Annual Meeting will include an announcement of changes to the average premium rate and all registered employers will be informed of their 2020 customized premiums. It is anticipated that the WSIB will eliminate the past claims charge as the unfunded liability has not only been eliminated, but it now has a funding surplus of about $8 billion. This change alone should drive reductions, averaging over 10% for most employers. However, the new model will impact some negatively, including ICI general contractors, resulting in smaller changes. We will provide you with an update as soon as the information is released.

This practical, half-day workshop provides participants with the knowledge and tools to confidently assess and respond to a request for mental health accommodation in the workplace.
