Most general contractors that I have spoken with have a rather “bearish” outlook for 2023, and possibly beyond. Some of our contractors are currently witnessing a steady reduction in the number of tenders being issued, both publicly and privately. This is a definite “red flag” for ICI construction and should not be ignored.
When the buyers of construction start to restrict or diminish the output of projects, this translates directly into a diminishment in the confidence of said buyers. This loss of confidence is not unfounded and can be highlighted with what the entire construction industry is experiencing.
The Ontario Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts has released its revised 2022 ODACC Annual Report.

The Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) is currently updating the CCDC 30 Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) standard form contract document.
You are invited to participate in either a survey or a 30-minute interview to share your experiences. This feedback will be used to improve CCDC 30 with the most up to date best practices. To participate in the interview or if you have any further questions, please contact jkvist@cca-acc.com. In continuing to build a modern and sustainable Brampton, the City adopted the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) program as part of its construction contract management and construction tendering process. This is a reaffirmation of the City’s ongoing commitment to health and safety for contractors, employees and residents.
Construction is complicated, yet it is often generalized as lagging behind other industries when it comes to the adoption of new technologies and processes. We want to know how, and most importantly why, you don’t use technology.
