Condolences continue to pour in from across North America and beyond our Canadian borders for the families of the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team, which was involved in a devastating crash that left 15 dead and 14 others injured.
As an association that advocates the importance of safety, we are saddened by this tragic accident and all those who are affected. It is a reminder that we must all work together because together we are stronger.

TORONTO - Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) have issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for interested parties to design, build, finance and maintain a new Thunder Bay Correctional Complex.
The new Thunder Bay Correctional Complex will replace Thunder Bay’s existing jail and correctional centre and improve access to programming, living conditions and education, while also updating automation and technology.

OGCA and the League of Champions were privileged to tour the Newton Group facility in Guelph on Friday, March 23. What a great day!
Newton Group Founder and President, Edwin (Ed) Newton conducted the tour alongside Vice President Meri Shepheard. Clive Thurston and Andrea George learned about parking structure pre-fabrication, solar panel solutions, and more.
In the afternoon, staff and guests met at the Frank Hasenfratz Centre for Excellence in Manufacturing, a state-of-the-art facility that Newton Group built for Linamar Corporation in 2009.
Senior management presented two of its employees with peer-nominated awards for safety and leadership. The celebration of safety continued with a talk by Rob Ellis, MySafeWork. He congratulated Newton Group and its team for its commitment to health & safety in the workplace and for striving to build a safety culture.
David Frame rounded out the event with a discussion on OGCA’s Safety Pass initiative, which is set to launch publically during Safety Week, May 7-11.
