In partnership with Philadelphia International Medicine and Welcome America, the Philadelphia International Airport recently unveiled a new display in Terminal A-East entitled “A Global Medical HUB since the 1700s.” The new display was created to celebrate the region’s historical medical firsts from colonial America to today’s world-renowned reputation. Salus University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) is acknowledged in the display for being one of the oldest colleges of optometry and the first school in the U.S. to confer the doctor of optometry degree. Split into a then-and-now format, the display also sheds light on PCO’s transition into Salus University and its expansion into what we are and what we provide today.
