The Eye Institute at Salus University Seeks Children for Myopia Eye Medication Study
The Eye Institute at Salus University is searching for children aged three to 12 years to participate in a four-year clinical study evaluating how well an investigational eye medication works to reduce the progression of myopia. Joseph Ruskiewicz, OD, MPH, is conducting the study.
The medication is dosed into each eye as a gentle spray mist using a handheld microdose dispenser. Children who take part will use the study medicine in their eyes every night. They will also return to our clinic at The Eye Institute for visits one month after starting treatment and every six months thereafter. During these visits, the doctor will conduct a comprehensive eye exam to measure myopia progression.
All study supplies and medicine will be provided at no cost, and participating children may receive a pair of glasses (valued at up to $200) every year when deemed necessary.
