SCO Honors Veterans
For Veterans Day this year, Southern College of Optometry assembled a cross section of current students, faculty and staff members to share their military experiences in a video .
The Veterans Day video was created at the request of Dr. Janette Pepper, who leads SCO’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program. Several videos have been created throughout 2020 at SCO in order to introduce the campus to different viewpoints representing a diverse background, military veterans included.
In addition to sharing the video on SCO’s social media platforms, an additional email campaign was created and distributed to SCO’s alumni and friends. In addition to promoting the video, the email saluted the service of Dr. Dan Fuller, SCO’s Chief of Cornea and Contact Lens Service. Dr. Fuller is one of several veterans in his family, including his late father, who was born 90 years to the day of this year’s Veterans Day holiday.
