Dr. Raymond Applegate Earns AAO’s Koch Memorial Medal
In October, Indiana University School of Optometry alumnus Raymond Applegate, OD’75, MS’77, received the Carel C. Koch Memorial Medal Award. The American Academy of Optometry awards this medal for outstanding contributions to the enhancement and development of relationships between optometry and other professions.
Dr. Applegate’s expertise in the optics of the eye and visual performance has significantly influenced the development of laser refractive surgery and treatment of the highly aberrated eye with wavefront-guided corrections. He is Borish Chair of Optometry and Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
