HRSA’s School-Based Loan Programs
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) provides public colleges and universities with funding so they can offer fixed, low-interest rate loans to students pursuing health profession degrees.
HRSA encourages students who receive these loans to deliver health care in communities where people lack access to primary health care needs.
HRSA has four different loan programs available for public colleges and universities to offer to their students.
HRSA School-Based Loan Programs and eligible medical areas of study:
- Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS)
- Allopathy
- Osteopathy
- Podiatry
- Dentistry
- Optometry
- Pharmacy
- Veterinary
- Health Professions Student Loans (HPSL)
- Dentistry
- Optometry
- Pharmacy
- Podiatry
- Veterinary Medicine
- Nursing Student Loans (NSL)
- Nursing
- Primary Care Loans (PCL)
- Allopathy
- Osteopathy
