Dr. James E. and Linda K. Hunter Laser and Surgical Care Clinic Established
The Indiana University School of Optometry has established a laser and surgical clinic at its Atwater Eye Care Center, thanks to the support of IUSO graduate James Hunter and his wife, Linda.
The Dr. James E. and Linda K. Hunter Laser and Surgical Care Clinic features equipment worth $125,000 donated by the Hunters. Several dual platform lasers and a surgical microscope, all with video recording capabilities are on hand, and a radio-frequency surgical scalpel unit will soon be installed.
SLT, LPI, and YAG capsulotomy procedures are performed in this surgical care clinic by Interim Director Dr. James E. Hunter and Chief of Advanced Ocular Care Services and Clinical Professor Dr. Brett King. In addition to starting this new clinic, the Hunters are establishing the Linda Hunter Laser and Surgical Care Fund to maintain the clinic and the equipment.
