IU School of Optometry Has Multiple New Scholarships to Offer OD Students
The Indiana University School of Optometry has four scholarships that have reached their endowment levels and can be soon awarded to its OD students.
The Robert L. Carter, OD Scholarship has been created through gifts from Robert L. Carter, OD ’70, who was an assistant professor at IUSO and then later a clinical faculty member at Michigan College of Optometry.
IUSO students, faculty and staff raised money to endow the William James Saunders Memorial Scholarship, which will go to a third-year student. A member of IUSO’s Class of 2022, Will Saunders passed away in 2020.
The Dustin Jones Scholarship for Future Optometrists will be awarded to a student who is in their second year at IUSO and is in good academic standing. Dustin Jones was a member of IUSO’s Class of 2010 and passed away before his graduation. The Class of 1978 Scholarship will be used as a recruiting scholarship.
