ASCO CEO and EVP Dawn Mancuso Receives American Optometric Association’s
2021 President’s Award
The American Optometric Association’s (AOA) Board of Trustees announces ASCO’s CEO and Executive Vice President is a 2021 President’s Award recipient. The President’s Award is given for exemplary dedication to optometry and the advancement of the profession.
Ms. Mancuso was honored virtually in June during the AOA’s Board of Trustees meeting.
“Dawn has been with ASCO since July 2015 and has spearheaded tremendous programmatic growth within the organization,” said ASCO President, Dr. Kelly Nichols. “Under Dawn’s leadership, ASCO is already half way through a five-year comprehensive Strategic Plan, launched the public awareness campaign, Optometry Gives Me Life, which has yielded positive results so far, and completed a reorganization of our volunteer structure, to just name a few. We are thrilled for her that she received the AOA President’s Award especially after this very challenging year.”
“I am deeply honored by this wonderful (and surprising) recognition,” said Dawn. “AOA volunteers and staff are wonderful to work with and it is very gratifying to see our two associations working in tandem to advance the profession for the betterment of patients everywhere. Many thanks!”
