SCO Promotes Graduate’s Role in Optometry Gives Me Life
One of the two new ODs featured in the next phase of the Optometry Gives Me Life public awareness campaign is Dr. Vishal Patel, a 2020 SCO graduate. During his time at SCO, Dr. Patel was a Student Ambassador who appeared on camera to talk about his optometry school experience for videos targeted to prospective students.
Dr. Patel cited that experience as proving beneficial when he was selected to appear in ASCO’s new OGML videos and other creative collateral. He was filmed at his Atlanta area practice, at home with family, and playing sports with friends.
To highlight Dr. Patel’s involvement, SCO interviewed him about his experience for its Winter 2021 alumni magazine and included a couple of photos from the campaign video shoot. Images from the campaign are also being shared to digital signage around campus and on social media to note SCO’s pride in one of its recent graduates working with ASCO to promote the profession of optometry to a new generation of prospective students.
