Jane Gwiazda, PhD; James Mertz, PhD, OD'07; and Glen McCormack, OD, PhD are retiring from NECO this year, after many decades with the college.
Dr. Gwiazda has served as Director of Research and Graduate Studies, as well as teaching in Vision Sciences since 1994. Dr. Mertz has taught in the department of Biomedical Sciences and Disease since 1998. Dr. McCormack has been teaching and held the position of Chair for Vision Sciences since 1976.
We at NECO and others in the optometry community wish to congratulate them on their many years of teaching and mentoring the next generation of optometrists. Their retirement is well earned!
