Berkeley AOA on Capitol Hill
UC Berkeley Optometry students, alums, and faculty, along with AOA representatives from all over the country, descended on Capitol Hill in April to speak with politicians regarding legislation important to optometry.
Topics included Medicare pay cuts to optometrists and other physicians, ensuring America's veterans have access to eyecare, protecting contact lens patients by reining in abusing contact lens selling practices, and putting patients and doctors back in control of their health care decisions by allowing dentists and optometrists to choose what labs they use for their patients.
