SCO Celebrates Anniversary
Southern College of Optometry celebrated the 20th anniversary of its flagship clinical facility, The Eye Center, at a special program hosted during the college’s Fall Homecoming weekend.
The Eye Center at SCO was dedicated 20 years ago this fall, so key leaders and donors were invited back to campus to commemorate the occasion, including SCO President Emeritus Dr. Billy Cochran and the original project’s architect.
Dr. Lewis Reich, SCO President, led the program, and was joined by Dr. James Venable, SCO’s Vice President of Clinical Programs, in providing an update about a $3 million renovation project currently underway.
A short video debuted in which The Eye Center’s origins were documented. The Eye Center’s celebration was also featured in a front page local newspaper feature and a news story aired by the ABC affiliate in Memphis.
