SCO Completes New Surgical Service Area
Southern College of Optometry (SCO) recently finished construction on its new Optometric Surgical Service Area. This area will provide care for minor surgical lid procedures and is now home to all anterior segment ophthalmic lasers for clinical instruction and patient care.
An MD is overseeing supervision of fourth-year interns performing these procedures for patients. Enhanced pre-operative cataract care and Intra Ocular Lens selection will be undertaken by fourth-year interns under the supervision of SCO’s faculty later this spring.
