ASCO Board Approves New Priorities for ASCO’s Strategic Plan
At its meeting in late March, the ASCO Board of Directors approved a series of prioritized strategies and tactics for ASCO’s new Strategic Plan which covers fiscal/programmatic year 2023 through 2027.
ASCO’s Vision Statement remains:
The public benefits from enhanced eye and vision health through excellence in optometric education and research.
ASCO’s Mission Statement continues:
The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) advances optometric education and research to enhance the health and well-being of the public.
ASCO’s Core Values are:
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Collaboration
- Leadership
- Innovation
- Integrity
- Wellbeing
The Key Strategic Objectives (KSOs) ASCO will be pursuing during the five-year period covered by the plan include:
- Applicant Pool Development
- Organizational Sustainability and Infrastructure
- Advocacy
- Career and Leadership Development
In the coming weeks, updates on priority strategies and tactics for each of the four KSO’s will be shared with volunteers involved with ASCO’s committees, SIGs, task forces, and professional groups for development of annual work plans.
