2023 PCO/Salus Presidential Medal of Honor Awardee: Dr. Henry Greene
For a career in distinguished achievements in the profession of optometry, Henry Greene, OD ‘74, FAAO, has been named a 2023 Presidential Medal of Honor award winner by Salus University.
Dr. Greene is one of the co-founders of Ocutech Inc., which had the idea of combining a telescope and periscope to create a novel optical device that would be better than traditional telescopic low vision aids.
Because of his involvement in Ocutech and what he’s learned clinically, Dr. Greene — who had a private practice in North Carolina for 40 years before retiring from clinical care in 2010 — has been invited to speak and teach low vision courses about telescopes and low vision care all over the world.
