CooperVision Opens Applications for its 2024 Best Practices Program
To further support the education of future eye care professionals, CooperVision has opened applications for its fifth annual Best Practices Scholarship Program. The program is an expansion of the company’s Best Practices initiative, which recognizes eye care practices from all corners of the country that are committed to advancing the profession through their innovation, leadership, delivery of patient care, and/or community service efforts.
Each year, three outstanding third-year optometry students are selected to join the prestigious group of Best Practices honorees at an all-expenses paid trip to the Best Practices Summit. During the Summit, students have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with some of the best in the nation.
“I applied to the Best Practices Scholarship program because I have always gained so much — both academically and personally — by learning from inspired mentors,” said Makayla Harr, 2023 Best Practices Student Scholarship recipient. “It is a great privilege to receive advice from some of the industry’s most well-respected practitioners. There is no doubt that their insights will be valuable as I progress in my own career.”
Applicants must be third-year optometry students currently in good academic standing at a U.S. optometry school who demonstrate exceptional leadership and/or participation in school and community activities, honors, and work experience.
The application period is from Wednesday, September 20, through Monday, November 27. Students who are interested in applying must submit a current resume and either a written submission (500 words or less) or a one-minute video explaining their aspirations to one day impact the industry, and how attending the Summit will help them to achieve these goals. Visit the Best Practices website to learn more.
Scholarship recipients will be announced in March 2024.
