Southern College of Optometry Promotes Eclipse Safety
With Southern College of Optometry experiencing 98% totality for the April 8 eclipse, the college worked in advance to promote safe eclipse viewing. Eclipse glasses were provided for students, employees, and patients on the day of the event.
ABC-TV’s Memphis affiliate broadcast live from the SCO campus throughout the event, including interviews with Dr. Lewis Reich, SCO President, Dr. Shaleen Ragha from SCO’s faculty, as well as several students. Another faculty member, Dr. Gregory Wolfe, also filmed three TV interviews in advance to encourage eclipse safety related to the event.
