VSP Ventures, UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science Announce 2024 Dr. Craig Hisaka Memorial Scholarship
VSP® Ventures, in partnership with UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science, is proud to announce the winner of the 2024 Dr. Craig Hisaka Memorial Scholarship: Alin Torosian, Optometry Class of 2026.
Alin was awarded the scholarship for participating in the VSP Business Management Immersion Program (hosted by UCBSO) and for demonstrating exemplary leadership, vision, and passion in pursuing private business/practice ownership. Alin received a $2,500 scholarship to be applied toward her tuition.
About the Scholarship
Dr. Craig Hisaka, the founding OD of Brookside Optometric Group, now a VSP Ventures practice, was a strong advocate of private practice and enjoyed mentoring optometry students to help them achieve their goals of becoming practice owners.
In honor of the late Dr. Hisaka, VSP Ventures, in partnership with UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science, offers this $2,500 award to a 2nd or 3rd year UCBSO student who has participated in the VSP Business Management Immersion Program. Applicants must submit an essay detailing their experience in the program.
