ASCO Welcomes Intern Eric Chan

Eric Chan joined ASCO’s team in mid July 2024. Eric is a third year student at the University of Maryland – College Park. He is currently double majoring in finance and operation management and business analytics. Eric entered ASCO as a general intern who will be assisting in multiple projects amongst various departments.

Within the first month at ASCO, Eric has organized and formatted excel sheets regarding Special Interest Groups (SIGs) reports for multiple schools. He has also assisted in finding multiple restaurants that cater to the needs of the Summer Institute for Faculty Development program this upcoming April.

Prior to joining ASCO this summer, Eric interned at GRF CPAs and Advisors as a Non-Profit Tax Intern. His interest in the non-profit industry has encouraged him to pursue non-profit work throughout the summer and ultimately joining ASCO. Aside from his professional endeavors, Eric is also well involved in his community at the University of Maryland. He is the director of engagement within the Smith Start program, which caters toward providing first-year business students with mentorship to assist with their transition into college. He is also the VP of Finance at the Consult Your Community Club, which provides pro bono consulting work for small businesses within the DMV area.

Eric has grown up in Bethesda, Maryland, and has enjoyed the weather year-round. In his free time, he enjoys staying active whether it be indoors or outdoors and reading self-help books along with financial books.

Throughout his time at ASCO, Eric hopes to gain a better understanding of the non-profit industry and further develop his skills and knowledge to hopefully start his own non-profit one day.

Eric can be reached at echan@opted.org.
