NSUCO Alumna Named the New President of BCOA

Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry (NSUCO) extends sincere congratulations to alumna, Dr. Shalonda McCallum, OD, MBA, who has been selected as the new president of the Broward County Optometric Association (BCOA).

Dr. McCallum is an optometrist at Braverman Eye Center. She received her OD degree from NSUCO in 2015 after earning her MBA from the NSU H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business. She has served as a Trustee on the Board of the BCOA and is a member of the Florida Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

The BCOA is a united group of optometrists that strive to advance the profession of optometry through education, professional development, and public policy advocacy. They work to protect the interests of both the patients and the optometrists in the Broward County area.

We look forward to Dr. McCallum’s continued success in the field, as she takes on this new role that signifies her dedication and commitment.
