Middle States Commission Approves Merger of Salus and Drexel Universities

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education has approved the merger of Salus University with Drexel University. As part of this approval effective June 30, 2024, Salus University’s non-academic, operational units became part of Drexel’s structure, pending additional approval by the United States Department of Education, specialized accreditors, and additional third parties.

As of July 1, 2024, Salus academic units — except the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, which will remain a standalone college — will begin the transition process to fully merge into Drexel’s colleges by next summer.
