OCULUS, Inc. (USA) Launches Frequency Doubling Perimetry in Virtual Reality Visual Field Analyzer & Screener
OCULUS, Inc. is debuting dual testing functionality on the OCULUS Easyfield VR™ to now include Frequency Doubling Perimetry (FDP) and Standard Automated Perimetry (SAP). Frequency Doubling Perimetry can potentially detect visual field defects with high sensitivity and precision, allowing practitioners to identify and assess visual field loss, leading to earlier intervention for patients. Standard Automated Perimetry, often considered the gold standard for comprehensive visual field assessment, quantifies the extent and pattern of visual field loss to monitor disease progression. Practitioners can configure the Easyfield VR™ with one testing strategy, then upgrade to a dual configuration combining FDP and SAP as their needs or methods evolve. Users commend the device’s flexibility and convenience, noting how it can operate in a fully lit room without an internet connection, streamlining practice flow, and reducing the scheduling backlog for traditional perimeters.
“My technicians have become 33% more efficient since adding the Easyfield VR™ pre-testing to my clinic,” says William Tullo, OD. “While patients complete audio-guided exams autonomously, my techs can prep for the next patient, enabling them to field 2-4 more patients per hour.”
Clinicians like Dr. Tullo leverage their preferred strategy in efficiently assessing visual field loss to continue providing the highest level of patient care. OCULUS customers using the Pentacam® and Keratograph® can enhance practice efficiency by integrating Easyfield VR™ exam results into the OCULUS patient database, benefiting from a familiar workflow and centralized patient management throughout the care lifecycle.
The OCULUS Easyfield VR™ is available solely for the U.S. ophthalmic market; interested parties can demo the device at upcoming tradeshows and learn more at http://www.oculususa.com/easyfield-vr
