Marcy Graboyes Retires After 42-Year Career at PCO/Salus
It was during her second-year fieldwork placement when Marcy Graboyes, LSW, MSW, ACSW, who was pursuing her master’s in Social Work at Temple University, found herself assigned to the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center, housed at The Eye Institute, which is the clinical facility of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO).
It wasn’t by choice.
“I never had an interest in working in healthcare or with those with disabilities,” said Graboyes. “But Temple was having a difficult time finding a placement for me, and this one was available. I was pretty much told if you want to graduate, you need to go there. I needed to graduate, so OK. But, I went under protest.”
Little did she know then that it would lead to a 42-year career at PCO and then Salus University, which recently came to an end when she decided to retire effective June 30, 2024.
