Eye Deserve More: The Eye
The AOA is promoting the importance of comprehensive, in-person care from a Doctor of Optometry as an integral part of overall health and wellbeing with the latest iteration of the Eye Deserve More campaign – The Eye.
An educational prototype that draws parallels between the latest tech and the advanced power of our eyes, The Eye serves as a visually compelling educational tool to highlight the unmatched power of the human eye and the importance of in-person exams with AOA doctors. By putting it into a new perspective, the latest campaign is helping Americans reconsider the marvel of their eyes and take the necessary steps to protect them.

Eyeglass Rule 2024: Compliance Toolkit
The new Eyeglass Rule of 2024 went into effect on Sept. 24, 2024. The new rules require doctors to obtain confirmation from a patient that the prescription was provided to the patient. In cases where the prescription is provided electronically, doctors need to obtain consent to send the prescription electronically and retain that consent. The Eyeglass Rule of 2024 mirrors the requirements of the Contact Lens Rule of 2020.
The AOA has developed a toolkit to assist doctors with compliance.
